BLACK TEA

8 reviews

The best teas from Yunnan (known as the birthplace of tea) are wiry and tightly twisted with distinct golden tips. This exquisite variety brews up rich amber-red in color, has a lightly sweet, floral flavor and aroma, and brings welcome notes of smoke, spice and leather.

I do like Yunnan and would like to try a sample of the other two teas you recommend. Next time I order is it possible to get a single tasting sample of your recommendations with my order of Yunnan?

I love the flavor. However I like a really strong cup of tea and I have to use a lot of this to get the strength I’d like. Which is a bummer because it is so expensive! Years ago are used to get a Yunnan from Pete’s tea when they had a good tea person. I really liked their Yunnan, but they switched their tea blends and quit carrying many of my favorites. Which is why I switch to you. However their prices were better.

“Satisfaction” and “longlasting” in Chinese, with a hint of the Beatles “Number 9."

Chinese Black Tea

The best dian hongs, or black teas, from Yunnan (known as the birthplace of tea) are wiry and tightly twisted with distinct golden tips. This exquisite variety brews up rich amber-red in color, has a lightly sweet, floral flavor and aroma, and brings welcome notes of spice and leather.

Yunnan Province

Yunnan which translates to "South Cloud", is a province jammed into the South Western most part of China. Not only does it share international borders with Myanmar, Laos and Vietnam, but there is a constant cultural exchange in these border regions, which is distinct from the rest of mainland China. Tea was first cultivated in this region thousands of years ago and it still produces some pretty amazing teas. Our Yunnan is harvested in spring.
